We go through friends like shoes… well, I do.
I have trust issues.
Friends come and go, and some have wormed their way back into my life.
BUT, there will always be a BEST FRIEND I can always count on.
To be honest, I am still on the lookout for a best friend. I have had good friends and some of the REEAALLLLYYY good friends. But, to me, a best friend is someone you can always trust and rely on. Someone who accepts you for who you are. Someone who loves unconditionally. Someone who never gives up on you, guides you, and helps you. He or she listens to you and does not say a word unless given permission.
I have yet to find that best friend.
You may ask, “Why is it so hard for you?”
Well, kids, my friends always end up being the sucky ones – the ones who go behind your back and talk crap about you, the ones who lie to you, the ones who never support you, the ones who bring you down. I have always had that bad luck with friends.
I admit that I probably had ONE best friend. But that was in preschool.
We had the same ballet class together, we liked Barbie, and we loved the color pink.
It was more of a “sharing a crayon equals best friend forever” type of friend.
I haven’t seen her since we were five, so yeah I don’t consider her my best friend.
MIND YOU, I do have AMAZING friends; but, I have yet to consider them as my “best friend.”
